A unique synthesis of timeless classical elegance and joyful modern vibrancy, Athens is Europe’s coolest new city-break destination.

The revered cradle of democracy and birthplace of western thought and civilisation, ancient mother of celebrated philosophers, poets and sculptors, host to the first modern Olympic Games, effervescent in its modern vitality and with a friendly and charming society, Athens beckons the visitor and illuminates the mind and the senses.

Athens is there to be savoured and experienced: prepare to be thrilled by the illustrious Acropolis, the large variety of museums, the theatre plays and musical events at such famous venues as the ancient Odeon of Herodes Atticus, quirky picturesque neighbourhoods, the wine bar scene, traditional and Neo-Hellenic cuisine, lively bars and lush boutiques, sun-seeking at the beaches of nearby Athenian Riviera, illustrious archaeological sites and a bustling night-life – just to name a few!
